Welcome!

You are invited join in a day of community service in the Greater Boston area! The 1st annual Day of Service at Harvard is a student-led initiative that will foster collaboration across the University in a collective effort to promote civic engagement and social awareness through meaningful service. The Day of Service represents an exciting new partnership between the Harvard Graduate Council (HGC), the Undergraduate Council (UC) and the Phillips Brooks House Association. All three student-run organizations share a common commitment to fostering social responsibility and civic engagement. The event will bring together Harvard undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, as well as faculty and staff, to volunteer at service agencies such as Habitat for Humanity and the Greater Boston Food Bank. By addressing a range of community needs, the Day of Service will also foster ongoing partnerships between Harvard students and service organizations in Boston and Cambridge.

The big event will begin with a kick-off breakfast for volunteers with President Drew Faust in the morning.  After completing community service projects, volunteers will be invited back to campus in the afternoon for a BBQ featuring former State Senator Jarrett Barrios and other invited guests!
